It’s important to remember that a charter is a special kind of fishing trip, designed to meet the needs of a specific group.

The smoothies at Frozone Treats are not included in the cost of your cruise. There are many other places to eat included in the cost of your cruise. Although I enjoyed the entertainment, this is my least favorite food, not just on the Magic but the entire fleet. Beauty and the Beast inspires Lumiere’s decor, which is named after everyone’s favorite candlestick.
Disney Magic Ship Overview
Operating hours vary, and the lines will be long, especially on sea days. The best time to ride the AquaDuck on the Disney Magic is on embarkation day, on sea days, and in the early evening when most families with kids are at dinner. The kid’s clubs are open all day and all evening without a break, and there’s no limit to how long a child can stay in the clubs. The clubs will offer an open house on the first day and at various points during the cruise – check the Navigator App for times.
Choose the Itineraries Over Choosing the Ship
Perhaps my personal least favorite part of a Disney cruise is the rotational dining system in which guests are assigned to a specific dining room, seating time, and table each night of their cruise. While it does make things relatively seamless onboard for dinner time, the rotational dining system inevitably means less flexibility throughout the day and evening. Adults traveling with children will find a good mix of family activities and adults-only activities on Disney Magic. However, adults traveling without children may find that other cruise lines are a better fit for their needs, with more upscale dining options, bars and adult-friendly activities. The ship boasts an Art Deco style and you’ll see similar motifs on later Disney cruise ships, including Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish.
Ship Basics
Throughout 2016 summer, the ship operated in the Western Mediterranean (leaving from Barcelona). These unique for DCL itineraries (called "Sea Staycations") were open for booking by UK residents-only and without any call ports. Disney Magic family cruise cabins for families of 5 have a Murphy bed. Plenty of drawers, a closet with sliding doors, a desk-dressing table, a smart HDTV, electronic safe bos, 2 portable "Wave Phones" (with texting capabilities and coverage throughout the ship and on Castaway island). Tweens (11 to 14) have their own hangout space called the Edge, on Deck 9 midship.
Home Port
A parent or guardian must accompany the teen for the duration of the treatment (solo and combined treatments are offered as an option). This comedy explores the idea of time-traveling (!) wicked stepmothers and stepdaughters (thanks to help from, who else, a wicked Fairy Godfather) trying to destroy the glass slipper and wreck Cinderella’s marriage. This live stage adaptation of the popular film is sure to wow you – especially when the mesmerizing puppet of Maximus takes the stage. A touching tale of a young girl at the age of not believing – follow along as she learns how to believe in herself thanks to the power of positive thinking along with some help from favorite Disney characters and memorable music. The tiniest cruisers are well taken care of in it’s a small world nursery!

Disney has an online service that allows passengers to order baby supplies in advance of their cruise and have them delivered to their cabins (provided by Babies Travel Lite). There are more than 1,000 brand-name baby products to choose from, including diapers, baby food, infant formula and specialty travel items. The dining room can also provide mashed or pureed food for babies upon request. During the day, O'Gills hosts live Irish music, trivia (mostly music by the decade) and other games such as a Jenga challenge. A highlight of every cruise, for both kids and adults, is Pirate Night -- a nighttime affair for which some passengers begin donning hats and pirate garb as early as breakfast. The 49th state's snowy, cold and dark winters are not conducive to cruising. Alaska is also the only place in North America to see the Pacific walrus, which will be at some of the more remote beaches and islands in the western part of the state. Bears, caribou, sheep and mountain goats are all active, and you can find them in easily accessible areas. "The best reason to cruise to Alaska is there are things that you can only truly see from the water. It's why it is a bucket list destination for many, many people," said McDaniel. On clear nights, you could have a chance to spot the northern lights — though they won't shine as brightly as they do in winter.

Weather in Alaska in August may keep some cruisers away, but there are still many excursions and experiences to enjoy. On dry land, bears are more common in May, though not as frequently spotted as they are in peak summer.
